A Time of Rejoicing and Thanksgiving
Succot, also known as the Feast of Tabernacles, is a time of celebration in which we remember and rejoice in the great things the Lord has done for us. God instructed the Israelites, through Moses, to set aside a period of seven days each year in which they would reflect on the way that the Lord sheltered them and provided for them in the wilderness after leading them out of Egypt. Even in their humble tents, the Lord never failed to provide for all their needs. This time of celebration was to be called the feast of shelters (booths) or the Feast of Tabernacles.
To this day, Succot is still celebrated in Israel each year with many Jews travelling from all over the world to take part in the festivities. If you are not able to travel to Israel this year, join us in London. We will have a big feast of worship, teaching and a great celebration together!
