BROMSGROVE STOREHOUSE
The UK Joseph Storehouse at Bromsgrove can be found just off Junction 4 of the M5 and Junction 1 of the M42, south of Birmingham in the Worcestershire countryside.
Within minutes of leaving the motorway you will find a cluster of eight buildings that used to be part of an NHS hospital. The Joseph Storehouse had three of these units until recently when we took a lease for a fourth unit.
Around the UK we have nearly fifty authorised Collection Points and you can deliver aid and most needed items to the one nearest to you.
When a Collection Point has accumulated enough aid we will send out our van to collect everything that is there and bring it back to The Bromsgrove Storehouse. There it will be sorted in our sorting bay. Some clothes are not good enough for us to keep as we have very high standards about what we send to Israel. These sub standard clothes we will take to the Rag Man who pays us for each van load. We then send that money to The Joseph Storehouse in Israel where they can use it to purchase much needed items locally, so these sub standard items are much appreciated and very useful.
The high quality items are then transferred to another unit where they are further sorted by category and boxed up ready for sending to Israel. These boxes are then weighed and recorded on the computer, and the boxes are stored on pallets awaiting authorisation from Israel. Because of the strict customs regulations in Israel we obtain authorisation for each box. When we have a full pallet of authorised boxes these ready for finalising and wrapping and are stored ready for the next container. When there are enough pallets to fill a container, we order one, complete the shipping documents and send the container to Israel.
We are always in need of volunteers at the Bromsgrove storehouse to help sort, weigh, pack and move boxes and prepare the pallets for shipment.
